The Akubra Coober Pedy named for Australia’s famed source of opals, including an authentic opal in the genuine kangaroo leather hat band. Hat is fully satin lined and shaped with a bound edge. This hat is sold and marketed as The Lightning Ridge Hat in The USA and Canada. Please note, each and every hat band is hand made from Kangaroo leather. This leather is procured wild under Australian Government control tariffs for these un harvested leather skins. As such, each one is different in colour and texture. This is a unique feature of the kangaroo skin hat band. Each and every band differs in shade and texture and is coupled with an Australian Opal directly from the Coober Pedy Mines in South Australia. This is indeed a unique hat .
The Coober Pedy by Akubra is a popular fur-felt hat for both city and country wear. The 3-1/4 inch bound edge brim, tilted down in front and back for protection from sun or rain, is dinkum Aussie.
