The Akubra Cattleman is made from Akubra’s Imperial Quality pure fur felt, and says a lot about its wearer. The Cattleman is produced for the Australian Cattlemans’s Hall of Fame, chosen because it represents the hats used by the cattle workers in Australia. This rugged, enduring Australian style is a good choice for anyone spending time outdoors due to its UPF 50+ rating – the wide brim will shield your nose, ears and neck from the sun. The Outback Style teardrop crown is 4 1/2 inches high, with eyelets on each side for ventilation. The 3 1/4″ brim is bound with ribbon and is turned down in front and back, also called “safari style”. It has an ornamental band with brass fittings and is fully lined with a genuine leather sweat band. Fasteners for optional chinstraps are set inside the crown for easy attachment, so you can “hold on to your hat”. And like all Akubras, Made in Australia with care.
